Breakfast at Palmette
Having breakfast outside is the new trend. How wonderful is it to begin the weekend with fresh croissants or pancakes without having to lift a finger? That is why, I went for breakfast in the city this weekend at the hot spot Palmette.
Palmette is a fine little place where you can visit all day long. Aside from being open every morning from 7:30am for the early birds, they serve lunch, drinks and dinner too. But breakfast it is for me!
At 9:45am on a Saturday morning, I cycled to Palmette with five layers on (it felt like -2 degrees). Once I finally arrived in this cold weather, I noticed that there were several people enjoying their coffee on the heated terrace. Super cosy! After some hesitation, I eventually decided to sit inside next to the window at one of the marble tables. The real eyecatcher of the interior design is definitely the ‘jungle wall’. I absolutely love all things to do with plants and animal (prints), so I love this!
Once I sat at the table, I received the breakfast menu, and I was spoiled with choices. Scrambled egg with belly bacon, American pancakes with Bourbon vanilla butter, and Shakshuka eggs. They even have a vegan smoothie bowl. For people who have trouble picking only one thing off the menu (like me), fret not! The ‘Palmette Breakfast Plank’ has everything. The plank includes toasted country bread, fresh croissant, boiled egg, smoked salmon, American pancakes, farmhouse curd with granola and berries, and a variety of spreads and toppings. With the plank, you also get fresh juice and a cup of coffee or tea. Everything was delicious, for the reasonable price of €13.50 per person.
Oh, give me this treat for breakfast every weekend!
